Glenn Thorn
Moorestown, New Jersey

Glenn built Roden's 1/32 scale Fokker F.1 and stood a Model Cellar figure of World War I German ace Werner Voss next to it. “This depicts the photograph of Voss in front of his aircraft, taken shortly before he died,” Glenn says. “It was a good exercise for me, now that I have returned to modeling after building as a child and early teen.” Glenn installed aftermarket Spandau machine guns and seat belts. “The paint scheme was difficult,” he says. “After several attempts, I settled on an undercoat of Tamiya olive drab, then dry-brushed shades of green and brown paint from Vallejo and Tamiya. The figure’s flesh tones are Vallejo paint.” Glenn says he bought the display base on eBay.
