Dan writes: “As a kid in the ’60s, I built every Renwal armor model I could find. I was always fascinated by the Ontos, so I was excited when Academy came out with one. I held out for a resin interior; as soon as I saw Verlinden had one, I was all over it.” Dan started his 1/35 scale Vietnam vignette with Academy’s M50A1 and Verlinden interior, added “two grunts and the ammo and crates from Verlinden, too,” and stowed various items from his spares. He weathered with artist’s oils, laid groundwork with acrylic paint mixed with fine sand, and mounted it all on a wooden plaque from a craft store.
