Tommy, 12, marked Tamiya’s 1/48 scale Marder III Ausf M German tank destroyer for Belgium, Spring 1944. He used Tamiya colors to airbrush the camouflage: desert yellow (XF-59) for the base coat, then hull red (XF-9) and olive green (XF-58) for the rest of the scheme. He applied homemade washes and mud. “I believe the shells came from a German 75mm gun,” he says.
