Don Wilson, Spanaway, Washington
“I built this 1/25 scale AMT ’53 Ford F-100 to represent a truck my father owned years ago,” Don says, “disassembling it to rebuild it to its current condition.” Additions included the front flip hood, a spare tire well and tire, tonneau cover, spark plug wires, battery cables, fuel and brake lines, radiator hoses, alternator brackets, exhaust system, antenna, flocked headliner and seat, and a scratchbuilt star shifter. Don buffed the Testors Model Master ice blue enamel with 2000-grit paper and polished it with toothpaste and carnauba wax. “Dad loved it!” Don says.
