Colorful aviator Roscoe Turner became the only three-time winner of the Thompson Trophy with Miss Champion, the Laird Turner racing plane sponsored by Champion spark plugs in 1939. Don dropped in an Engines & Things resin engine, reshaped the landing gear struts and propeller, and scratchbuilt air scoops, a tail wheel fairing, and a cockpit for Lindberg’s 1/32 scale Meteor.
