Bernie Hengst, Little Britain, Ontario, Canada

Following a local modeling club’s theme of “Aircraft of the Aces,” Bernie built the postwar mount of German ace Erich Hartmann. Bernie finished Hobbycraft’s 1/72 scale Canadair Sabre Mk.VI to represent Hartmann’s aircraft when he was commander of Jg 71 in the early ’60s, using Alclad II, Humbrol, Tamiya, Pactra and Mr. Color paints, custom-mixing some of the colors. The decals are from Peddinghaus.
