Lindberg’s 1/128 scale B-58, a kit from the 1960s, had several working features, such as movable landing gear, control surfaces, and canopy hatches. “Unfortunately, I had to disable all the cool moving parts to achieve a more-realistic look,” Steven says. He reshaped the nose and forward fuselage; removed the vertical stabilizer and reshaped it; scratchbuilt parts of the engine nacelles; vacuum-formed a more-accurate canopy; rescribed all panel lines; scratchbuilt a tail cannon; and drew up decals for Super Sue. Steven’s Hustler is finished with Testors Metalizer spray-can paint.
