Tamiya’s 1/48 scale F-16 Thunderbird is posed gear up on a display base Bob adorned with an authentic Air Force Thunderbird coin he received while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. He painted his bird with enamels, used acrylic paints for the markings, and finished with Testors Model Master gloss clear. “This took about eight months of everyday building, and I thoroughly enjoyed it,” he says.
