Heller 1/72 scale DC-6B - April 2013

Brad Shinn, Hatfield, Pennsylvania

One of the very first airplanes Brad flew on was a DC-6, he says. He scratchbuilt flaps for Heller’s 1/72 scale DC-6B and gave it United decals from Liveries Unlimited.

Looks just like the ones I used to see when I was a kid. Great Job!

Very, very good.  Your mastery of the metallics is appreciated.  And it's nice to see realistic smoke markings from the engine.

My first flights to Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands was via DC-6 of North West Airlines. I'm working on a kit from that era. Your picture will help guide me on some of the details. Very nicely done
