Mahlon Smith, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

“As a retired member of the U.S. Air Force, I am always interested in historic USAF aircraft,” Mahlon says. “The T-28 was an interesting subject; its value in the COIN (counter-insurgency) role was not widely published.” He built Roden’s 1/48 scale T-28D and assigned it to the 4400th training squadron at Eglin Air Force, Fla., in 1964.
