Revell’s 1/96 scale USS Constitution was bolstered by solid bulwarks amidships “and painted in correct 1812 colors,” says Jake. He tied his own shrouds and ratlines in place of the kit’s plastic, and used brass netting for the bulwarks’ caps. The anchors are rigged rather than simply tied to the hull; the rigging is Coats & Clark thread for buttons and carpets. Jake built his own display base for Old Ironsides.
