Raul Guzman Jr., McAllen, Texas
“My USS Constitution started as a Model Shipways kit,” Raul says, “but was modified by making it a double-planked model, with the second visible layer of the model being ebony. The black on the hull is not painted; it is the color of the wood. The scale is 1/76.7. The build took me 802 hours and 51 minutes.”
Really like the effort and results! Some more pictures are in order.
THAT IS FANTASTIC! Seriously it's a stunning build.
I agree. Let's see some more shoots of this great build.
Beautiful work Raul. That is stunning. How long did it take you build? Please post some more pictures in the Ship forum, I know everyone would be appreciative.
Looks great (also impressed that you know exactly how many hours AND minutes it took you - you aren't an accountant are you? :-) ).
really dig the furled sails. any tips on how you did them?
Awesome work!!! You built that for me right?
Beautiful model Raul....... Well Done!
Thank you for the comments. To see more photos of this model, go to my website, www.guzmanshipmodels.com.
Went to your site and viewed enlarged photos- absolutely amazing. Even enlarged they gave all appearance of real vessel rather than model and the low angle looking up the side into the rigging was outstandingly realistic.
Nice work! Those final 51 minutes...on what? Probably the most (or supposed to be) trivial step in concluding the build that went amiss far enough to take long enough you logged it's duration separately?!
I'm always amazed by ship modelers and the painstaking effort required for the rigging!! What an amazing piece of artwork!!
