Dean Edmondson, Antrim, Northern Ireland
“When I saw Academy’s 1/35 scale Merkava IV advertised in FSM, I thought it was pretty cool,” Dean says. “I painted it with a spray-can color called “light Manila” I found at an art shop. I noticed the model lacked the anti-slip surfaces of the tank, so I held the can high above the model. The paint landed on the surfaces and gave them a coating like sandpaper, which approximated the effect of anti-slip. I weathered it with Tamiya’s Weather Master and pinwashed and dry-brushed with Humbrol enamels.
