Felipe Prado Diaz, Mexico City, Mexico
Felipe built Revell’s 1/24 scale kit with Real Space’s detail set to model Gemini 4, the capsule from which Ed White stepped to become the first American to walk in space. Felipe says, “I remember when my mother and I were watching the news and special programs that covered this magnificent event. Those were my first ‘space moments,’ and I followed every event afterwards that brought men to the moon.”
Wow, that is a beautiful job. Nice work!
Wonderful job of a wonderful program. They were heady days indeed.
Felipe, You really did a fine job on this little craft that made the world proud of what humanity can accomplish. Sharp, and crips lines aft, with excellent subdued paint forward. Numero Uno!
A magnificent job!
I, too, lived through those heady days of the Space Race. I recall a friend of mine proudly announcing that his Dad worked at the place that manufactured the tether for the Space Walk. I do not know what his Dad did for a living or where he worked, but it was cool nevertheless.
When I was a boy, I built the Revell edition of the Gemini and if memory serves, it also had one of the Mercury spacecraft. Might have been Friendship 7.
I wish you had more photos of your superb construction.
