Donald Capone II, Waxahachie, Texas
Returning from a modeling hiatus, Donald built Eduard’s 1/48 scale Nieuport 17. He added Eduard’s photoetched-metal interior set. He weathered Testors paints with an acrylic burnt umber wash. The rigging is .002" stainless-steel wire. For a wood-grain paint effect, he laid down a mixture of burnt umber and black and streaked it lengthwise with a small brush. After that had dried, he applied a top coat of light brown. The final step was a coat of clear semigloss lacquer.
Nice job especially the weathering
I'm returning to the hobby, too. Great job and gives me a little more motivation.
It feels like I'm there just looking at it!
Got one in the stash, but mine will never look that good as I'm bad at this hobby but enjoy it anyways
