Close cover before striking! Jasper writes: “When an accident ruined the paint work on my Zvezda 1/35 scale BM-13 Katyusha, I decided to try modeling a burned-out vehicle. I replicated heavy rust using Vallejo acrylics and pigments as well as oil washes and filters. The groundwork is various types of tile grout with paintbrush bristles for the plants.
Nice job turning an "accident" into a great looking wreck!
Great looking dio!
Does it still start?
Nice job. I would think that the thing would be more blackened if it was burned and or damaged by and explosion. I esp like the way you bent the launch rails!
Love the front fender
Perfect, Jasper !! I've seen quite a few burned out vehicles along an old closed road behind my place. It's a steep, rocky hill and people ride their brakes, igniting their tires. It only takes a few humid, summer months for the burned up, bare metal to achieve exactly the look you've got here. Super job ! And "tile grout with paint brush bristles"? I'll definitely be trying that.
