Rick writes: “The kit is the Airfix de Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI in 1/24 scale. The markings represent a plane of Royal New Zealand Air Force 487 Squadron piloted by Group Capt. Percy Charles Pickard, who led the raid against the German prison at Amiens, France, in Operation Jericho.” Although many prisoners escaped, Pickard and his navigator died when their Mosquito was shot down while circling the target area to verify the success of the attack. Rick added aftermarket crew harnesses and .303 machine-gun barrels to the model. The camouflage is Tamiya paints; he used Alclad II on various engine parts and the 20mm cannons.
