Rick Bennett, Beaverton, Oregon
In the earliest days of tanks, Great Britain’s Whippet was built for speed; able to “sprint” at slightly more than 8 mph, it was, in fact, faster than its peers. Rick built Emhar’s 1/35 scale kit and painted it with Humbrol enamels. He eschewed the kit decals in favor of painting the identification strips. After sealing with Testors Dullcote, he weathered with artist’s oil washes of raw umber, yellow, and white. The groundwork is Celluclay and static grass.
