“Glenn Curtiss set a standard for the aeronautical world before and after World War I and developed a number of classic designs that contributed greatly to the future of aviation,” Mark says. A lover of that golden age of aviation, Mark paid tribute to Curtiss and the P-6E Hawk with an extensive rework of Combat Models’ 1/32 scale vacuum-formed kit, scratchbuilding much of it from styrene stock and odds and ends, such as a plastic tag that came with a shirt his wife bought for him (used for a magneto boost cable). The plane represents the 17th Pursuit Squadron at the 1932 National Air Races.
