Gregg Yan, Manila, Philippines
“The Vietnam War is always associated with Huey helicopters,” Gregg says, “but few know of the twin-engine UH-1N Hueys that were field-tested late in the war. This diorama depicts a UH-1N Seawolves helicopter shot down in the Mekong Delta in 1971. The crew has just escaped, and enemy soldiers are cautiously checking the bird. The kit is a modified 1/72 scale Italeri UH-1N with new .30-caliber door guns and hand-painted insignia. The soldiers are old Esci figures.”
