1/32 scale zero-launch F-100 - May 2014

Tom Rice, Canton, Georgia

Tom says, “Having been a modeler all my life and attending many model shows, I came to realize how few aircraft dioramas are done for shows. I decided to attempt the zero-launch F-100 using the 1/32 scale Trumpeter kit. The only aftermarket item is the Zactomodels intake.” Although the Cold War concept of trailer-based nuclear-armed jets didn’t go far, Tom went the distance to build the launcher from styrene stock and Alumilite castings. He says, “I could only find pictures on the Internet to design the launcher. Much is pure guesswork.”
