Jorge Suarez, Charlotte, North Carolina
Jorge assigned Tamiya’s P-47D to the Cuban air force’s Escuadrón de Persecutión 10 de Marzo at Campo Columbia airfield in Havana. He says, “I chose Tamiya’s P-47 for my postwar machine because of the Curtiss paddle-blade propellers, open cowling, and posable flaps. I mixed Testors Model Master enamel and white to match the chocolate-colored Cuban khaki from a photo and my memory. The Cuban flag on the rudder is painted; the decals are from Aztec.”
