Using Tamiya’s 1/35 scale kit, Russ depicted a Stuart tank in Soviet service. He painted with a medium-green hobby paint from a craft store, then lightly dry-brushed and dusted with a bit of chalk dust. The stars come from his spares. “I needed a different situation for a Stuart, and Lend-Lease fit the bill,” he says. Figures and extra equipment are more of Russ’ spares. The building is made from balsa wood; the tree is a bush root coated in spray glue and rolled in foliage-green foam.
