Modeling “Lady Lex” as it appeared shortly before being sunk in May 1942 at the Battle of the Coral Sea, William fitted Trumpeter’s 1/350 scale USS Lexington with Gold Medal photoetched metal, Eduard figures, and extra planes from Trumpeter. He finished the ship with Testors Model Master and White Ensign enamels.
