Claude Tremblay

Chicoutimi, Saguenay, Quebec, Canada

German armor abounds in Claude’s 1/35 scale, 16" x 84" diorama, “Control of the Railway.” The main player is a Panzerzug (armored train) comprising several Trumpeter kits — Panzerlok Baureine 57 locomotive; Panzerjägerwagen; Geschützwagen/Kanonen und Flakwagen; and a Panzerträgerwagen — plus a Kommandowagen. Several more Tamiya kits fill the scene: a Flakvierling; Jagdpanzer; SdKfz 250/3; and 3.7cm PaK 35/36. Not all visible from this angle are 25 figures from Tamiya, Dragon, and MiniArt. Claude scratchbuilt the bridges from styrene, using .020" and .040" for the iron trestle and framing the arched brick span with .040". The bricks were cut from cork and glued one at the time. Claude spent six months on the project.
