Revell’s 1960 vintage 1/69 scale V2 rocket and towed launcher is accompanied by a SdKfz 7 fire-control vehicle Roger built by scratchbuilding a body for a 1/72 scale Hasegawa Quad 20mm antiaircraft halftrack. He modified Revell’s Meillerwagen launcher, consulting photos of its full-scale counterpart at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. The rocket is painted with Testors Model Master white (No. 2142), olivgrun (2089), and tan (1742) mixed with yellow and white and, finally, a raw umber artist’s oil wash. Roger says, “This ragged scheme was the more common camouflage used on V2s, eventually becoming overall olive green by the end of the war. I built it once I had sufficient references to do it accurately.”
