Robert calls his 1/35 scale vignette “Desert Predators.” He says, “All of the vehicles and soldiers are 35-year-old kits from Tamiya. I pulled them out of storage and weathered them with artist’s pastel chalks and Tamiya’s sand weathering kit.” He used plastic wrap for the groundwork and applied dry grass, rock, and fine sand, all from ScenicExpress. A wood-burning stylus produced weld seams on the PzKpfw III turret. “It is a lot of fun to resurrect an old kit or diorama and upgrade or detail it a bit,” he says.
