Ernest Urtiaga

Oviedo, Florida

Honing his finishing techniques sharpened Ernest’s treatment of Polar Lights’ 1/18 scale guillotine. He used Testors Model Master Acryl wood as a base coat and brushed faux grain with burnt umber artist’s oils, alternating brush angles for effect. The blade is painted with a Testors Model Master Metalizer and polished with Rub ’n Buff. Ernest tastefully omitted the figure and basket that came with the revisitation of the old Aurora kit.
