Jeff Head

Belle River, Ontario, Canada

Jeff says, “I returned to the hobby about five years ago after a 20-year hiatus, due to marrying into a family that has a number of active scale modelers. I focused exclusively on armor until my father-in-law persuaded me to “build something that’s not a target.” I picked the Ki-44 for its unusual shape, variety of markings and the fact that I have a big soft spot for World War II radial-engine fighters.” Jeff built Hasegawa’s 1/32 scale Shoki, drilling out molded lightening holes and using fly-fishing lead wire to plumb the cockpit. He sprayed the markings through Montex masks.
