Boulton Paul’s Defiant was a mid-1930s-designed “turret fighter” intended to attack bombers in formation. But the lack of forward-firing guns was a definite drawback in fighting Bf 109s, and the “Daffy” soon switched to duty as a night fighter, trainer, and target tug. Charles painted MPM’s 1/48 scale Defiant Mk.II with Testors Model Master enamels.
