Having built two 1/24 scale Tamiya Newman Porsche 956s, one as the 1984 Le Mans winner, Chris writes: “I tried this model in the ’80s and was completely out of my depth. One of my best friends and I made models together as kids. For his recent wedding, I decided to build the one that I failed at almost 30 years prior. Since I had almost a 30-year break at modeling, I got two kits and made two versions. (I did my practicing on No. 8.) To personalize the gift, I changed the driver names and flags to the bride and groom, and made a similar change with my family's names on my No. 8 car.”
