“Playing this beast in World of Tanks inspired me to put away the keyboard and get back into modeling,” Len says. He took 72 hours to build and finish Dragon’s 1/35 scale E-100 with a resin Krupp turret from Rhino, swinging by the aftermarket for pioneer tools and clasps as well as infrared lights and scopes, and using brass wire for grab handles. Len says, “The paint scheme is fictional, a ‘what if German manufacturing had been robust enough to mass-produce these vehicles.’” After a coat of Vallejo primer, he painted with Tamiya acrylics and used AK Interactive chipping medium on each layer of camouflage, further weathering with oil filters, washes, bright scratches of chrome enamel, and enamel rust/grime streaks topped with brown pigments. The tank commander is an Alpine figure painted with Vallejo acrylics.
