Don writes: “Designed by Lancia, campaigned later by Ferrari, the 1956 D-50 had internal features both interesting and elegant. This 1/20 scale Revival metal kit depicts the private entry of Ecurie Francorchamps in the 1956 Belgian Grand Prix. A last-minute purchase from Scuderia Ferrari, it was painted in Belgian racing colors for driver André Pilette. The mirrors, however, were overlooked and remained Italian red.” Don painted with Testors enamels and acrylics, plumbed the engine, and thinned the cutaway edges of the body panels for scale. The carburetor “gravel strainers” are made from tulle.
