I had an uncle who flew B-25s from a base in India in World War II, B-25Ds modified for photo reconnaissance and redesignated F-10. So, I got Italeri’s 1/48 scale B-25C/D kit. I used modeling putty to build up the camera blisters on the nose, and pieces of gloss black plastic for the lenses. The mid-fuselage turret was removed, so I filled the hole with heat-shaped styrene. I chose the CBI color/decal set from the kit. My uncle didn’t leave a log book, so I didn’t know a tail number of any plane he flew on. But I discovered that three F-10s had crashed in India shortly after the war, so I chose one of those tail numbers for my model.”
