Frederick writes: “I’ve been away from modeling for the last four years, so I decided to make my return as interesting as possible: It’s the Family Truckster from the movie Vacation as seen in television’s Family Guy episode Blue Harvest, the Star Wars parody. It’s a combination of two of my favorite movies. The base kits are an AMT 1/25 scale ’65 Chevelle wagon and a Bandai 1/72 scale Y-Wing. Though the bottom of the vehicle is never seen in the show; it’s built from bits of styrene and leftover parts from both donor kits along with a few spare aircraft parts. The luggage is sculpted clay. I thought the wood panels would be the hardest to replicate, but they are simply contact paper from a hardware store.”
