This is the fourth in a series of motorcycles Mike is building for the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Ala. He says, “It is a 1/9 scale Jawa Speedway racer built from an old Protar kit. While the basics of the kit are quite good, as is the case in most Protar kits, there was a lot of smaller detail on this bike that needed modification to bring it to scale. Things like brackets, chains, and sprockets are fabricated to replace the rather heavy, molded kit parts. The wire wheels are laced and a proper pit stand was fabricated.”
