From the realms of video and online games comes what Steven identifies as the “SS Panzerkampfwagen Black Wolf,” also known as “Schwarzwolf.” He writes: “Internet searches of the Black Wolf will often confuse it with the E-79 from the game Panzer Front. I researched and created what I felt was a more likely interpretation of what the vehicle would most likely look like: suspension more like a Tiger II; turret similar to the Panther Ausf F, but extended to accommodate a 10cm gun, with a remote weapons station on the turret with a 7.92 MG42 machine gun; and, most importantly, Brimstone armor, a nonexplosive reactive armor similar to that of today’s vehicles.” In the realm of 1/35 scale, Steven put a turret and upper hull from Trumpeter’s E-50 on the lower hull and suspension of a Dragon Tiger II. He mounted an RB Model metal 10cm barrel for the main gun and installed smoke-grenade launchers from a Dragon Panther. Styrene tiles represent the add-on armor.
