John’s build of Eduard’s 1/48 scale “Ultimate Sabre” depicts the F-86F-30 of Maj. James P. Hagerstrom, a Korean War ace with 8.5 victories. John drooped the air brakes and painted with Vallejo Model Air and metallics as well as Tamiya colors. He used the hairspray chipping technique along with pastels used to impart some grime. “I chose the Sabre because of its timeless style and my own personal interest in the Korean War,” he says.
