Alexander Sweatman

Rankin Park, New South Wales, Australia

Alexander made up for his lack of Star Wars models with a diorama. This 1/144 scene on the snow planet Hoth used two box-stock Bandai snowspeeders and an AT-ST walker in a Diopark display base frame. Alexander hand-brushed Vallejo and Tamiya paints and used a wash of Vallejo Game Color Black Wash to weather. He made the rocks by tearing up a champagne cork and then painting and dry-brushing the chunks. Alexander solved the issue of snow particle size by using Vallejo snow paste and sprinkling Peco 0.5mm snow fibers over it as it dried. The blasts of snow thrown up by the laser fire are pillow stuffing covered in the same snow mixture.
