In 1925, British manufacturer Allchin introduced the last of its great steam behemoths. This engine, named the Royal Chester, was a beast. It weighed in at 20,000 lbs. with back wheels that were 6 feet high. The boiler generated 7 horsepower, propelling this "tractor" to a blistering 10 mph. Scott built the SE Finecast 1/32 scale Royal Chester mostly out of the box but added Britannia castings, brass wire, and photo-etched brass. He also replaced some of the metal parts with wood and rubber hose and painted the model with Splash Royal Maroon and Tamiya Red. At 1/32 scale, the model should weigh 625 lbs. Luckily, this Royal Chester weighs significantly less at only 1 ¼ pounds.
