Great pics and thanks for sharing. Just wondering though, in the 14th pic down, there is a red Navy helicopter in the background, which looks a little like a westland Scout, but it isn't. Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks.

Awesome pics Rob!  Hopefully I will be in Macon in a couple of weeks and can get some pics of one there.  Gustav may change my plans though.  I really want some detail on the head.  While the principles are all the same as the -60 head, There have been some improvements over the years.

WOW!! That Skycrane looks like it just rolled off the show-room floor. Was it just repainted? The thing really does look new. Thanks for the pictures.

I have to do some research but if I remember correctly that is a Bell Helicopter in the background. If I remember correctly they basically used the frame of the Bell 47 and skinned it and used a different rotor. I think that had three blades. Anyway I'm guessing more than anything tonight. I'll do some digging tomorrow.

Found it. I was partly correct. It is a Bell 47L. The Navy called it a  HUL-7 Here is a link to a better picture.

OOPS!

It seems as though Erickson is the proud owner of the 'Crane that was on display at RTI.  I was most disappointed to find the spot empty when I got there.
