Oh no, What a loss. I met him during The premiere of that movie while stationed at Fort Hood with the 1st Cav.  Sort of a reunion of a lot of those fellows. He was indeed a genuine hero and a fantastic person. The world shall miss him.

Passing of Ed "Too Tall" Freeman

I recieved an E-mail that Medal of Honor recipient Ed "Too Tall" Freeman passed away on Aug. 20.  Ed and Bruce Crandall both recieved the MOH for their courage under fire during repeated flights into the Ia Drang Valley to deliver supplies and take out wounded.  Bernie Cobb had the honor of serving with both and was good friends with them.  The movie "We Were Soldiers" put them in the limelight over 30 years later.  Wally Nunn informed me there are 101 living recipients of the Medal of Honor.  He is Chairman of the  Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.
