Weathering a Mil-24 "Hind"

What scale kit do you have? Also what era/area do you plan to model? Hinds have served in nearly every climate imaginable from desert (Mid East, Afghanistan), to tropical jungle (Africa, Central America), to all of Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union and their climate varieties. You have plenty to choose from.

This is a small walkaround I did of a Czech Hind last year. The Czechs keep their Hinds quite clean as this aircraft shows. However one area that dirties up pretty quick is the area where the exhaust flows. The exhaust stream goes down the fuselage at an angle to a point just aft of the main landing gear bays. The wing roots get a good dose of exhaust staining in the process, the sixth picture shows a bit of that.

Heres a picture of my trumpy 1/35 scale hind i painted it  the tan color first then free handed the green after that was dry i went back and used  a litghter color coat of the baase color and post shded the panels also did the same with the green after it dryed i coated it with future decaled and then a panel line wash with oils.
