Thanks for your best wishes fellas.  It's going to be a while, but you'll be hearing from me again.

Good luck to you Chris.  Come back and visit every once and a while.  I still stick my head in and see what is going on from time to time (been spending most of my time with wingy thingies lately) and it would be good to see a hello form you when I do.

I admire your actions Chris

I was drafted in 71, spent 10 years in the Army, got out to finish my degree, finished it, recalled in 91 for Desert Storm. I decided to stay in and finish my military career and retire. Upon retirement I got a job as a government contractor and was hounded by my boss to get my Masters. At that time I was heavily into astromony imaging and had a lot of money tied into the hobby. When I went back to school I found I could no longer conduct imaging because I would think I could only stay out a couple of hours and it always ended up being an all nighter. Then you just never recoup the lack of sleep and your studies suffer. I finally had to just sell everything off, because as long as I had the equipement I would give in to the fun side.

It took two long years of working an average 4 hours everynight and all weekend doing school work, but I finished my graduate degree and it paid off. Self improvement, especially in education, will always benefit you in the future. I always believed if you want to get ahead in life you have to sacrifice some times the things you would rather be doing.

So good luck with your education and I am sure you will realize the sacrifice you make now will pay off in the end. I still have not got back into astronomy imaging, but did start building models again.

Good luck out there, but come back and visit. Just because you aren't building steady doesn't mean you can pop in and say "HI!".

So long folks!

Hey fellas,

I thought I'd post this in the helo forum, because it's my favorite place.  It's a good idea for me to sign off for a while.  I hate to be a "see ya later guy,"  but life has taken a turn for the positive.  Even positives have a downside, and I'm just not building (or posting) anymore.  I'm sure I'll be back, but it'll be while.

I'm working 40 hours and going to school, so I may have some time between quarters to build.  However, I don't expect to finish a model for years.  I looked at the date of my last post and it was 2 weeks ago.  My building table has turned into a study/paperwork table.  All the kits I own are packed in a box.  I haven't even looked at the last FSM and the new one is probably going to be out soon.  It's been at least a month since I last touched plastic.

I'm sorry fellas, I think it's time to sign off for a while.  College is taking away all my modeling time.  It's pretty funny, I enlisted at 22, and I was the old man.  I go to college at 30 and I'm the old man.  At work, everybody's between 60 and 45 and I'm the kid.  Go figure.

Semper Fi,

Chris
