USCG MH-60J external fuel tanks length
Posted by HeavyArty on Thursday, November 27, 2008 2:59 AM
Progress on my 1/35 USCG MH-60J Jayhawk continues.  I'm currently finishing up the external stores support systems.  I will be moving on to the fuel tanks soon.  I have the diameter and the Academy tanks from the UH-60A/L kit are correct.  I still need the length though.  Does anyone who has built the 1/72 conversion have the length for them?

I don't know if this is going to help you any, but I have built the conversion in 1/48 and the measurements for the large port tanks are 2.135" ( or around 2 1/8")long and the tail fin extends an extra .225" ( or around 1/4")further than that. I unfortunately don't have the measurements for the small staubord tank as I made a search light pod for that side and don't have a clue as to where the tank is now. I hope this helps in some way.

Thats perfect.  With the help of a scale calculator, that comes to 82.21mm in 1/35.  No worries about the short tank.  I was planning on using the search light on the starboard side as well.  Thanks, thats just what I needed.
