Help with UH-1D interior colors

Glare shield - BLACK - Instrument panel BLACK - Instruments BLACK -centre radio panel BLACK Radios BLACK sides of centre radio panel- Grey - seat frame Grey - seat belts silver grey which rapidly become dull grey with dirt there is a 4 inch square of medium brown leather behind the female seat buckle floor. Floor Grey with a lot of scratch marks all over ( floor bolts and rivits becom bare polished silver pretty quick -fabric headliner grey ( not much help was I ).
When Bell started selling the 204 and 205 they put pretty colours outside but the interior stayed the same. Fabric Pilot seats where either red or OD pax troop seats red or grey.
UH-1N 212 still like that - try staring at that panel on a dark and stormy night for a few hours- no flipping wonder I need glasses!!!!!

Sharkbait's got it pretty dead on. My only comment is the control panel face, which on the D and early H models was grey with black instruments. They didn't start painting the panels completely black until after Vietnam.

Charles, Jon is right about the instrument panel being grey for the UH-1D/H's well into the late 70's and early 80's before the use of night vision goggles. The only black was faces of the control panels , circuit breaker panels, and instruments. One of the Squadon Signal books had a good picture of the UH-1 instrument panel. I'm not at home to check out whick book. The seat frames for the armored seats were also olive drab. The frames for the troop seats were grey. If you can get your hands on a 1/32 Revell Huey instrument panel, it's right on! All the interior under the grey insulation blankets was grey too. Some may have had a replacement inspection panel which sometimes was interior green. The windshield wiper motor covers had a black foam over them. Good luck with your project!

Thanks for the help guys. I'm a fighter/tanker crew chief by trade but my dad was in the Army and I loved watching those coppers fly.

I made it back home and if you can get your hands on Squadron Signal's UH-1 Huey in Action page 19 has a good black and white shot of a UH-1D instrument Panel. Also the Huey book of their Modern Military Aircraft # 5001 has a shot of the UH-1C on page 8 which is practically identical despite the caption in the previous book.
