I especially want to say Merry Christmas to those who are away from home. Unfortunately for some of them, today and tomorrow may pass by as being little more than a normal day with a special meal at the DFAC. At least that keeps you from missing some of the things at home as much. You will all be especially in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
I haven't been to Christmas Communion since I got back and I think that it will be emotional for me thinking about those who can't spend this time with their family and friends. I know all about "it's part of the job" and "I enjoy what I do" and a host of other things that are said to keep others from worrying but holidays are a little different. The funny thing is, I feel the separation more at home than when I am away.
If you are home this Christmas, please take a moment to remember those who can't spend the holidays with their families.
To all, may you have a blessed holiday season! Even though we are in some difficult economic circumstances now, it is temporary. Jobs come and go (I know!). Enjoy those closest to you now and even if just for a day or two, don't even think about tomorrow, it doesn't need your help to get here.
