British AH-64D Apache AH Mk 1 ???
Posted by cairnsy01 on Monday, December 29, 2008 2:06 AM

G'Day All,

I am currently reading the book 'Apache' which goes over British Apaches in the Gulf and I've decided that I'm keen to build one in 1-48. So my question is what would be the best kit to go with to build one. I'm leaning towards a Hasegawa kit but am unsure as to whether there is an RAF version boxing? and if so does it contain the appropriate parts (EW/ECM bumps etc) and different 2.75 rocket pods.

If anyone has any experience with the Hase Apaches is there any other things to watch out for when building it if I decide to go with this kit?

 Cheers all

Ah, there's the rub...

There is a British Army (not RAF) boxing of the Hasegawa kit, but it does not include the HIDAS sensors that British birds carry.  The Revell Germany kit does have the necessary sensors, but is a significantly lesser kit.

Best answer: Get the Hasegawa kit and either scratchbuild the sensors or get the RoG kit for the correct pieces.

Thanks Very Much Jon!

Had a total brain explosion with the whole RAF concept! I think I'll have to try and lay my hands on the Hase Kit and there should be plenty of the Revell kits about so I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks again
