Searching for pic's UH-1N Euro 1 scheme ?
Posted by Helo H-34 on Saturday, January 3, 2009 6:51 PM

I was looking through the recent posts on FSM and I saw a pic HeavyArty posted on Aaronw thread which shows a nice USAF UH-1N Huey , with a Euro 1 paint scheme . I have two Helo's sitting under the workbench , which I have already stripped off the original paint finish and re-built . One is a 1/72 Italeri UH-1N and the other is an 1/72 HH-53C . I have a spare 'pave low' navigation and communication equipment set that fits on the nose for the H-53 and I have a painting diagram for the Euro 1 scheme . So after seeing the pic HeavyArty posted of the USAF Huey , I've decided to give my old UH-1N the same Euro 1 scheme . The only thing is , all my reference pic's are of the left side of the fuselage , as yet I haven't come across any images showing the full right side of the Huey . I was hoping some might know of a site which may have some pic's to help me out . Finishing off these two birds over the next few weeks will certainly help clear a stack of  half-finished builds .

                                                      Kind regards John

I came across this pic while searching the net . The camouflage patten diagram appears to be for a UH-1F Huey . I also have an F model in my stash , so I'll build her along with the other two I already mentioned . The pic HeavyArty posted and the camouflage diagram I found should be enough information .

                                         Kinds regards John .

John,

I hope these help you out a little.  They are from the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensecola.

Edit: I don't think this is the exact scheme you are looking for is it?  Sorry, but I'm not too up on my recent USMC camo schemes.  Thought you might like em anyway.

Thank's for sharing the pic's Ray , Although as you have said their not quite the same camouflage scheme I was searching for . Never the less , you have shared two nice images of a USMC UH-1N and as it happens I have a 1/48 scale UH-1N in my stash . I wanted to do her in the tri-color scheme . I lost a lot of Huey pic's when my CD disc got corrupted . So I'm still trying to find some close-up pic's of the machine gun mount on the modern USMC Huey and some nice close-ups of the TK2 bracket mount on the UH-1E Marine Huey's .

Mmmm , looks like quite a few more Huey's coming off the workbench for 2009 Smile [:)]

The pic's you share are alway's greatly appreciated , thanks again Ray.

                                     Kind regards John .

You've come through again Ray , thank's for the link . After seeing the pic's you posted , it jogged my memory as I had already purchased the CC UH-1N Update Set . It was stashed away in another storage box , I can't explain why I didn't place inside the Huey kit box Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid] .

I'll still have to scratch build the door guns and mounts but I'm happy I remembered I had the update set .

                                               Kind regards John

Or get the CC UH-1N Weapons Set.  Its pretty nice and comes with all you need, including the large, wall-mounted ammo can.

Here's a larger image of the Technical Order page you previously found:

The same basic pattern is used on all the Huey models, including the UH-1N.

Hope this helps a little,

Joseph

Thank's Joseph , Your technical painting diagram is of a much better quality than the one I found . I printed my copy and then found myself using the magnifying glass to see where one patten finished to the next one . Thank's again I greatly appreciate you posting a better version . Thumbs Up [tup]
