Well, I got the PE sets, and after looking at them, I don't think I have any option BUT to take my time!  I've a couple other tasks that I have to work on before tackling this one, so it may be a while before I can start working on it in earnest.

I appreciate all your help, and will take your "warnings" and tips to heart.

I did not plan very well on my build and I ended up in areas that became harder than if I had planned, e.g. installing the greenhouse glass after I glued the two sections together, painting the doors thinking they would fit, painting the armament supports before installing and realizing they did not fit. You need to always plan about four or five steps ahead of where you are and think about what will be the outcome when later on you have to go back to the assembly you just finished.

It was a true learning experience for me which I failed often, but in the end I did learn much and hopefully my next build will be much better.

Good luck on your build and do not get impatient...I did and messed up decals and the weathering on my tailboom because I did not want to wait for ordered decals to arrive or until the next day to buy pastels I thought I already had so I tried the Academy decals ehich silvered and tried my airbrush and got the boom too dark.

So in the end, my standards kept slipping to the right. Whistling [:-^] That is what impatience will get you.

Thanks for the heads up, Charlie.  Kinda had that impression from looking at YOUR build, anyway.  I ordered them Sunday eve or Monday (memory is going, ya know?), so it shouldn't really be THAT long before the stuff gets here.  I think I'm going to do something with this kit I don't usually do..I'm thinking I need to actually PLAN with this build.  Well, more than normal, anyway.

And I'll try to take several pictures at each stage, instead of a few at the beginning and then a few at the end.  I hope I can get CLOSE to the look you had on yours.

You need to wait on the PE. I spent probably forty hours just in the seats and cockpit area with PE and model parts. The PE parts will effect almost every section you build and when you have the PE you will then be able to make a better call on which PE parts you may or may not install. I probably used only about 70% on the interior and exterior and less than 50% on the armament systems.

I'm waiting for my Eduard PE (interior and exterior sets), but wanted to begin this build.  As there are a few out there that have done this build with the PE sets, should I just wait for the PE, or can I start the build?  I can do it either way, but I'm itching to get this helo going.
